Well…I have a habit of writing dairies but have never written on a blog before. So, I’m totally new but is cool to try new things in life, right?!
A little more about me…
My name is Chia Yu Ning, I studied in Republic Polytechnic and graduated with a Diploma in Biotechnology. I love working in the laboratory and conducting different experiments to support my research hypothesis. It gives me a sense of satisfaction when I get the expected results after weeks of researching and effort doing N number of experiments.
I love traveling and have always wanted to travel with my friends. Before university started, my friends and I planned a graduation trip to Taiwan. It was the most memorable trip I had where out belly and friendship grows.
There was still some time before university starts, so I decided to made use of my time to gain work experience. I took on a part-job at Salvatore Ferragamo where I made many new friends and I surely did learn to appreciate and am more thankful to people working in the retail industry.
Why psychology?
I have always been interested in how humans or animals behave and why people behave or act in certain ways. In addition, if I have the ability and knowledge, I can know more about myself and help people around me. However, I did not choose to study psychology in polytechnic but went with another interests of mine which is biotechnology. I was scared and thus contemplating whether if I should continue studying biotechnology in university or try something new that I have always been interested in.
It’s normal to be scared right? But I really hope I made the right choice of pursuing this course 🙂

Scrolling through the modules I am required to study, I was wondering why we need to have an introduction to communication and media. After much thoughts, the media plays a huge part in influencing people mindset which have its pros and cons. It will be interesting to learn and understanding more about how media influence how human think and behave. This brings me back to when I started biotechnology course where I wonder how science and technology are interlink with each other. I hope and feel that this module would enlighten my questions marks in me.
